A 43-YEAR-OLD man became a daily shoplifter at Tesco when he turned to drink after being made redundant.
Blackburn magistrates heard Peter Wright went into the Hill Street store at 7.27am on March 18, 7.10am on March 19, 7.14am and 9.37am on March 20 and 7.04am on March 21 and on each occasion left with a bottle of wine.
Wright, 43, of Cherry Lodge, Islington, pleaded guilty to five charges of theft. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £25 compensation.
Andrew Church-Taylor, defending, said Wright had worked all his life until being made redundant eight weeks earlier and had turned to drink after losing his job.
