Grants for East Lancs young people's groups

YOUNG people’s groups have been handed grants to fund activities.

The grants are used to support voluntary, community and faith groups that provide services for 13 to 19-year-olds.

Groups providing services for disabled people up to the age of 25 have also been funded.

Youth organisations including Sabden Youth Group and Vision Rossendale Engage Youth Club were among the groups to be given the cash.

County Coun Mark Perks, cabinet member for young people, said: “We wanted young people to have a say in the services provided in their area, which is why we asked youth councils to decide which applications to approve.

“The projects will make an important contribution to each area and I’m pleased the groups and individual young people now have the funding they need to take them forward.”
