HARMONY: Children sing out together
MORE than 1000 schoolchildren from across Lancashire came together to sing at the weekend for three spectacular concerts at King George’s Hall, Blackburn.
The Sing Together Concert, organised by Blackburn Diocese, was the culmination of nine months practice which has taken place through school workshops delivered by Blackburn Cathedral's outreach team.
Children from 52 schools had learnt their parts at school helped by teachers and the project leaders for the performances.
Songs included Disney classics, pop songs and two and three-part arrange-ments.
The project, launched six years ago as part of the natonal Sing Up initiative, is led by Jeff Borradaile, cond-uctor of Blackburn People’s Choir, and Gill Fourie, head of the cathedral’s Music Outreach Programme.
