2:30pm

2:28pm

Predictably, the equaliser comes from Dunn in the 95th minute. Ball found its way to the far post and he lashed it past Grant. Ewood erupted.

2:27pm

Rovers 1 Burnley 1

2:26pm

Todd Kane's low 25 yard shot is saved

2:25pm

Rovers man of the match goes to David Dunn. He's tried his heart out, few others will emerge with credit if it stays like this.

2:23pm

We have had delays for injuries and the red card, but Burnley are furious about that.

2:22pm

90 mins are up, 6 minutes added on

1:58pm

Mee had surged forward but overstretched to make a challenge and it had to be a yellow card. Chris McCann now filling in at left back for Clarets.

1:57pm

McCann clears just as Rhodes was lurking to turn in Olsson's cross. This game could change now, 25 mins left

1:57pm

Ben Mee is sent off for a second yellow card.

1:37pm

Second half is under way.

1:37pm

Teams back out for the start of the second half, Leon Best is off, Josh Morris on.

1:22pm

Half time: Rovers 0 Clarets 1

1:17pm

Four minutes of largely chicken-related stoppage time. Rovers have been really poor so far, Clarets far more threatening.

1:14pm

Austin booked for Clarets, joins Rovers' Hanley in the book

Gally on Radio Lancs....."Burnley showing passion, guts ......Rovers showing nothing" How much further can we fall?

Gally, "The long ball just isn't working.... no change there then ....just nip down to the dug out Gally and let Appleton know that!

1:10pm

1:09pm

Rovers have been really poor in last 15 minutes, home fans getting frustrated, away supporters understandably in good spirits right now.

1:05pm

1:04pm

It's Rovers 0 Burnley 1, Jason Shackell

12:53pm

12:51pm

12:51pm

12:47pm

Rovers appealed for a penalty as Rhodes was caught going for a header. Nothing given.

Radio Lancs telling us there is a chicken, injured on the pitch..... That's 22 on the injury list then!

12:45pm

David Dunn did his best to catch that chicken, but it was an elusive one. Yakubu had a better technique last season.

12:44pm

A minute delay as stewards attempted, unsuccessfully for a while, to catch a chicken on the pitch. Looks like it came from Riverside Stand. Farcical scenes, but it gave the entire ground a laugh.

12:43pm

Chicken on the pitch.

12:41pm

12:40pm

12:38pm

Wallace brings down the darting Martin Olsson, but no booking despite appeals from the Rovers fans.

12:36pm

Neither side sitting back, both looking tto get the early advantage.

12:34pm

As you'd expect, Dunn looks up for this game. Kacaniklic thought he was through for the Clarets but foul given against him.

12:33pm

First effort of the game, Wallace's free kick and Shackell turns the ball well wide.

12:32pm

Both sides look like they've gone 4-4-2. Dunn on right, Stewart on left for Rovers. Wallace on right, Kacaniklic on left for Clarets.

12:31pm

And we're under way.

12:31pm

Teams switching halves, Rovers to kick towards Blackburn End in the first half.

12:30pm

12:29pm

A real roar from both sets of fans as the teams warm up in front of their own supporters. Kick-off only a minute or two away.

I'm not as confident of a Rovers victory as I have been in the past, neither team have been anywhere near their best in recent weeks so it could go either way. It'll be interesting to see what team Appleton will select although I hope he changes the formation. Personally, I'd opt for a 4231 formation as it's easier to control the midfield but can revert to a 433 when we're attacking. My starting XI would be... gk Kean, rb Kane, cb Dann, cb Hanley, lb Mn Olsson, cm Lowe, cm Jones, rm Pedersen, am Dunn, lm Stewart, st Rhodes

Come on the Rovers!

Injury damages court case
In June 2005, Appleton announced that he was going to sue the surgeon that he believed had ended his career early. The surgeon's name was not announced, and the case was set to start in early 2007. In June West Bromwich Albion Football Club began a £1 million compensation claim against brain specialist Medhet Mohammed El-Safty, the surgeon who operated on Appleton, who West Brom described as "negligent". It was said if West Bromwich Albion had won the case, it could result in many similar cases, the appeal court was told. Appleton's case against Mr El-Safty was heard by a high court judge in Manchester, with evidence provided by Appleton's former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and former team mates Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, Manchester United's former captain. Appleton won his case but had to wait to hear how much money he would receive for his damages.
"I am relieved finally to have received judgment and to be able to put this chapter of my life behind me"
Michael Appleton
On 23 March 2007, Appleton was awarded £1.5 million in damages for his injury - thought to be one of the biggest pay-outs to an English footballer - as Mr El-Safty had admitted he wrongly operated on him. It was said that he could have earned £500,000 a year in the Premier League and the High Court also commented that his career could have lasted until 2009.

You must be proud of your team today. And your manager. And your club. And your town.

Keep looking upwards and you'll see Burnley up that Championship table.

Jordan Rhodes will be the highest paid player ever to grace League 1. And you'll be in administration before too long. I can't wait!

Steve Kean was too good for you. Where would you be without his points you ingrates?

Somebody needs to remind the Rovers inbreds that they didn't win today. Through extra time they managed to snatch a draw, but from the comments you'd think they had just won the league. Stone age minds and mind sets won't let them see the reality of the peril they are in, When the end of the season arrives Burnley fans will be doing the gloating as their peasant neighbours fall through the trap door. It's as inevitable as day follows night!

Can't wait, as it will be good riddance to nuisance neighbours.
