IF you thought glamorous clubbing only took place in big cities, foreign countries and celebrity-ridden mansions then think again - East Lancashire is playing host to one of the North West's most extravagant New Year's Eve parties around.

Following on from last year's success, Loaded - at The Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton-le-Moors - is the ultimate party for clubbers and hopes to give established events such as Ultima, Chuff Chuff and Tru's Do's a run for their money.

This year the four-star stately home is set to undergo an ultra-swish makeover featuring huge champagne glasses, entertainers, giant chocolate fountains and an array of ice sculptures.

Organiser Jamie Harvey expects more than 2,000 revellers from all over the country to travel to East Lancashire to take part in the annual festivity, making it one of the most desirable places to bring in 2007.

"Each year the event gets bigger and better," he said.

"We have been working hard to try and make this year into the ultimate New Years Eve party."

There will be four different rooms of entertainment.

So far the line-up confirms: Twisted Elegance, Manchester's most glamorous club night which takes place in the city's most exclusive venue The Ampersands and Rock FM's breakfast presenter Adam Catterall hosts the RnB room alongside Urban Antics.

New for this year is the Alternative Room, hosted by popular fashion retailer Reef, giving local bands The Torrents, Moneyshot, Morning Call, Number 9 Crew and The Grand Crew the opportunity to play live.

To put the icing on the cake, local legends and former Cubes residents Gilly, Damian Lee and Andy G take the reins in the Funky Room.

Loaded was born in 2003, where its first event was held at the De Tabley in Ribchester.

Since then it has gone on to achieve cult status with North West clubbers and enjoy sell-out parties.

And sceptics who believe New Year's Eve is all about wringing cash out of revellers may get a pleasant surprise.

"We have arranged more space for bar areas as well as bringing on board a selection of drinks sponsors," said Jamie.

"That way you can spend more time enjoying yourself and, most importantly, without burning a hole in your pocket.

"Just because it's New Year's Eve doesn't give us a licence to rip people off - I want this year to be as flawless and hassle-free as possible, leaving people to just get on with having a good night."

Tickets are £35 each. You can also book a hotel room, which gives you extra benefits such as access to the pre-party, the VIP room and the after-party.

Rooms are currently on offer at an early bird' rate of £89 up until December 1.
