Blackburn dad to face fear of heights in charity parachute jump

THE father of a one-year-old girl with cerebral palsy is to face his fear of heights to raise cash for a disabled children’s charity.
Blackburn man Jan Evans, father of Neave, takes his daughter to The Legacy Rainbow House in Mawdesley, near Ormskirk. Mr Evans and his wife, Maxine, gave up their jobs to become full-time carers for Neave.
He has now decided to raise money for the charity by doing a sponsored parachute jump with the Black Knights at Cockermouth on June 8.
A charity spokeswoman said: “Jan and Maxine have grown in confidence to be able to cope on a daily basis since Neave has been attending Rainbow House.
“Jan now wants to raise funds for Neave and the charity by facing his biggest fear which is heights. The only way he will conquer his fear is to do something which takes him out of his comfort zone and helps him focus on raising money.”
