DARWEN’S MP has called on constituents to vote for who they think should represent Darwen and Rossendale in Rock The House 2013, Parliament’s biggest music competition.
Rossendale band Skyeladder will take on Darwen’s Fear the Fallen to win a chance to perform live at festivals and venues across the UK, including Download Festival and the historic Cavern Club.
Other prizes include guitars, masterclasses in sound and lighting and a single released by Cherry Red Records.
Finalists will compete in a live battle of the bands, and the winner of each category will then perform live on the balcony of the House of Commons on June 26.
Rossendale singer Jess Haworth, 16, will represent Rossendale and Darwen in the under 19 solo artist category.
MP Jake Berry said: “Rock the House is a great opportunity for aspiring musicians of any age to break into the music industry.”
