A NURSING boss who asked a student what her favourite sexual position was and remarked on the size of her breasts is to face a disciplinary hearing.
Scott Finlay Knowles, who worked as a care co-ordinator and was in charge of students nurses for a time at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, will face 18 misconduct charges brought by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Knowles is also accused of obtaining pornographic DVDs from a patient, which he failed to pay for.
And he is said to have asked another service user to obtain pirated DVDs on his behalf, which he also failed to pay for.
NMC officials have not revealed where Knowles was posted at the time of the offences, which took place between 2006 and 2008.
Another set of alleged offences relate to his time in charge of student nurses at the trust, which mainly provided mental health care services at the time.
It was during this time that he is said to have asked one of his students what her favourite sexual position was before commenting on the size of her breasts.
Knowles is also accused of asking another student to visit a service user, despite there being concerns regarding a weapon being kept in his accommodation.
He is also accused of smoking and swearing in front of service users on various dates over the same period.
A further charge details how he allegedly locked a student in a car with a service user, told her she would have to keep up with him ‘or find her own way back to the office’, and later threatened the same student she would fail her placement.
Knowles is also facing general claims that he failed to provide adequate support to a number of service users between 2007 and 2008.
If the case against Knowles, which will be heard from Monday, March 18 onwards at the Old Bailey in London, is found proved he could face suspension or being struck off the nursing register.
