DANCERS from across East Lancashire showed off their skills at a festival.
The Nelson Dance Festival on Saturday and Sunday saw performers aged between five and 18 strut their stuff on the stage at Pendle Hippodrome Theatre.
The annual event attracted performers from 10 schools who performed ballet, Greek, national and character dance routines. They then went on to take part in the stage, modern, song and dance and tap categories. Muriel Mutter, secretary of the festival, said: “The standard has been excellent. We have always had a good report from the adjudicators for the standard of dance.
“Sometimes they have been a bit surprised that we are so good, but there is a lot of talent here.
“All the children had a really good time, but it was hard work and there was a lot of practice.
“All the parents have been really supportive too.”
