Funeral date for Longridge motorway crash victim

THE funeral of a grandfather killed in a motorway crash will take place on Thursday.
Lorry driver Alan Walmsley, 62, died after his HGV was involved in an eight-vehicle collision in Cumbria on Monday, February 25.
His funeral takes place at St Lawrence and St Paul’s CE Church in Church Street, Longridge, at noon, followed by committal at Preston Crematorium.
A celebration of Mr Walmsley’s life will then take place at St Wilfrid’s Terrace Members’ Club in St Wilfred's Terrace.
He was well-known for his involvement in amateur football, most recently with AFC Longridge.
