Removal of Sunnyhurst Wood paddling pool silt will take longer than expected

WORK to remove silt from the Sunnyhurst Wood paddling pool will go on for a third week.
Friends of Sunnyhurst Wood chairman Dennis Gillibrand said he had hoped the work would be further on now, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it had taken longer than hoped.
Mr Gillibrand said: “The contractor has removed more than 300 tonnes of silt from the wood.
“I would like to thank the site marshal volunteers who have helped direct people, and wood users for conforming to the path restrictions.
“We are hoping the work will be completed by the end of the week.”
