The children, aged from eight to 14 are members of the Waterside Youth Club in Colne.

They have been taking part in the project, run by Groundwork Pennine Lancashire, over the past three months and have worked with professional film-makers at Robot Street Film Productions.

They have attended weekly sessions and also worked with actors to produce the film.

The 15 youngsters got to see the results of their work this week when the movie, ‘The Chase for the Case’, premiered at the Lesser Muni, in Colne.

“The Chase for the Case is a three-minute silent spy movie and was filmed in various parts of Waterside in Colne.

“The film had its premiere at the Municipal Hall, where the young people and their families were able to watch the film, see behind-the-scene footage and out-takes from the film.

“All the young people received a certificate at the end of the showing and the film will be entered into a national competition.”
