The Dean of Blackburn prepares to brave the coals The Dean of Blackburn prepares to brave the coals

THE Dean of Blackburn is to bare his soles to intense heat to raise money for the town’s young people.

The Very Rev Christoper Armstrong is preparing to walk over hot coals in a fundraising bid for Blackburn Youth Zone.

Rev Armstrong said it was an honour to undertake the feat with other fundraisers at the youth zone on Wednesday.

He said: “It is very imaginative and I think it is quite appropriate for a dean to walk over hot coals during lent. The youth zone and those who support it are so inspiring and do so much for the town it is a privilege to help their fundraising efforts in any way I can.”

The Fire Walk takes place at Blackburn Youth Zone at 7pm on Wednesday. To take part or support the fundraisers contact the youth zone at their Jubilee Street base or call 01254 292000.

Is there any chance that a person may bring someone to this event, as I can think of a few that need to be dragged over hot coals?
Failing that, can I bring my own potatoes, as I'm quite partial to a jacket potato, with some cheese.

As for the article itself, it leaves nothing for me to use in a comment, as all the puns are gone, apart from one...
Dean's on toast!

On second thoughts..

Hope our local MP hasn't been invited to attend, as the last thing we want is, a flaming Jack Straw.

Over to you, Burner.
