Don't miss chance for free travel in East Lancashire

THOUSANDS of public transport users have just weeks to apply for a new pass.
There’s just a month left for NoWcard holders whose passes need renewing to apply for a new one. Lancashire County Council estimates that around 30,000 people still need to renew their cards before they expire at the end of March.
Passes that are not renewed before the expiry date will no longer be valid for free travel on bus services.
As well as being more convenient for passengers, the NoWcard smartcard contains a small electronic chip which allows the bus service operator and the local authority, to account accurately for concessionary fares, so that the concessions are paid for correctly.
The council has sent letters to cardholders in Lancashire, explaining the renewal process.
Any NoWcard holders who haven't received a letter or haven't yet applied for a new pass is asked to contact the NoWcard helpline on 0845 058 1096 or visit www.nowcard.org.
