AN adoption information evening is to take place at Haslingden Library.

The session has been organised by Lancashire County Council to find new families for children and young babies up to the age of eight.

People who have already adopted will be at the Deardengate library from 6pm to 7.30pm to share their experiences.

Social workers will also be available to answer any questions, talk through the process and offer confidential advice.

The council is appealing to people from all backgrounds, aged over 21 and living in Lancashire or close by, to go along and find out more.

They specifically need people to offer new homes to:

  • Children aged over four.
  • Children with special needs, disabilities or unpredictable medical issues.
  • Sibling groups
  • Boys
  • Dual heritage children
