Celebration of 130 years of spiritualism in Bacup

THE 130th year of Spiritualism in Bacup is to be celebrated with a series of events in coming months.

The movement first appeared in the town in September 1884.

Bacup Spiritualist Church president Jean Tiddy said the aim was to improve people’s understanding of the religion.

Events including a psychic supper at Pioneer Cafe in Rochdale Road, and an open day at the church and a mind, body and spirit workshop at Bacup Hub on May 4.
