Chance to drive a train on East Lancashire railway
1:54pm Monday 18th February 2013 in News
WANNABE engine drivers can make their dreams a reality thanks to the East Lancashire Railway.
The heritage railway is offering enthusiasts the chance to get behind the controls of a steam or diesel engine between Rawtenstall, Ramsbottom and Bury.
The restored ex-British Railway locomotives also pull trains of vintage carriages and wagons.
Participants can spend a full or a half-day on board, with the option of a guided tour and the chance to act as a train guard.
For more information, contact the railway’s ‘on- footplate experience’ manager on 07814 302813.
