A REVIEW of playing pitch provision in Burnley is to be carried out as part of the council’s Green Spaces Strategy.
Council chiefs said increased demand for junior pitches within the borough had led to the review.
Questionnaires have been given to sports clubs and schools which will help to determine demand and how it can be met.
The strategy will look at options to make best available use of all the pitches within the borough before looking at whether more pitches are required.
Coun John Harbour said: “One important element of the strategy will be a review of playing pitch provision within the borough as we are seeing an increase in demand for junior pitches.”
