Blackburn branch of HMV among 66 to be closed

Blackburn's HMV store
Blackburn's branch of HMV is one of 66 shops to that will be closed by the music chain's administrators in a move set to cost nearly 1,000 jobs.
Deloitte said the shops would continue to trade but the closures were expected over the next one to two months.
Administrator Nick Edwards said the shops had been identified as part of an ongoing review of the company's financial position and the group still hoped to secure a future for the restructured business.
He said: "This step has been taken in order to enhance the prospects of securing the business' future as a going concern.
"We continue to receive strong support from staff and are extremely grateful to them for their commitment during an understandably difficult period."
The group, which currently has 220 UK stores, called in the administrators last month, but hopes of a rescue deal have been raised after restructuring firm Hilco - the group behind HMV Canada - bought the company's debt.

Soon Blackburn is gonna be nothing but one pound shops, handbag shops, and clothes shops that don't cater to the "fuller" person oh wait the town is already like that.
Looks like it's time for me to pack my things and move to somewhere less depressing then this bum hole of a town.

The lesson from this closure is If you are offered pirated merchandise you must say no! and keep saying no! it's the only way to get the price down.

If the same company proffers, online, that same article, cheaper than in the self-same shop, whom can blame me,
for taking up that offer?
However, I will concede that, I can & do download movies, only because a certain section of our community have utterly spoiled my cinema going, with incessant chatter, phones going off and the stench of food brought in, during the movie experience in Vue.
Other than that, I watch movies online, at JTV. Where chatters are sidelined, as you watch a movie, in peace, in the comfort of your own home.

I spend 3 hours a day driving to and fro to Liverpool to earn a crust, so have no time to go shopping in Blackburn.
The screens are too big at the Vue that they hurt my eyes.
So I wait 6 months and my internet allows me to buy the DVD for 3 quid.
But HMV is a bit like Woolies, isn't it? Sadly missed but life will go on.
Nevertheless, it's a tragedy these folks have lost their jobs. No more jobs in Blackburn with its plastic 'University'.
God bless the Council.
