Cafe will help art 'sprout' in Blackburn
2:58pm Monday 4th February 2013 in News
BUDDING artists can take advantage of a new art group held in the new Sprout Cafe, above Mercer’s Toy Shop in Darwen Street, Blackburn.
The cafe has joined forces with Creative Support’s Social Inclusive Service to offer the new group, which will allow a number of socially isolated people to meet in a safe environment.
Those in attendance will be given the opportunity to do their art work in a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere while making new friends, improving social skills and increasing their confidence and self esteem.
The art project is one of a number of community development ventures constructed by Creative Support in recent years, with an overall aim of improving community cohesion among members of the community.
