BURNLEY Council has committed to a further three years of its business growth programme to help local firms.
The councillor responsible for regeneration and economic development said they would provide £1million over the next three years and that the scheme would ‘encourage growth in our economy’.
Coun Andy Tatchell said: “We are confident this programme, alongside others available in Lancashire, will provide a comprehensive suite of support that should encourage growth in our economy.”
He also revealed that almost 30 firms were currently looking at expanding or relocating in Burnley, and that plans for the Aerospace Supply Park on the former Michelin site were progressing.
“Discussions are taking place with companies that have already expressed an interest to relocate to the site,” he said.
