Commuters in Lancashire encouraged to share cars
1:10pm Tuesday 29th January 2013 in News
COMMUTERS are being encouraged to share their cars to get to work.
Lancashire County Council have teamed up with other authorities in the region and are inviting people to visit its Shared Wheels website to find others who use the same routes as them.
The aim of the website is to maximise travel options while helping to cut traffic congestion and pollution.
It is also intended to help save money, improve accessibility and mobility.
Lancashire County Council says there are over 38 million empty seats on the UK's roads every weekday.
To register your work and leisure journeys, visit www.sharedwheels.co.uk.
