A NEW office complex could be created overlooking the River Calder in Padiham if proposals are given the go-ahead.

Agents say proposals for the building, in Park Road, could create 20 jobs, if councillors can be convinced of their merits.

Currently the L-shaped building, just a short distance from Padiham Greenway, is vacant and bricked up, having previously been used for light engineering and storage.

Plans lodged with Burnley Council, on behalf of Ipswich-based Suffolk Life, would see an assorted collection of outbuildings demolished and a courtyard established.

The riverside development, comprising of five individual offices, would also be landscaped with local trees and shrubs.
