A MAN was robbed in an alleyway and threatened by a teenager with a weapon in broad daylight in Oswaldtwistle.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 23-year-old man was robbed in the rear alleyway of Roe Greave when he was approached by a man who demanded he hand over his mobile phone.
The victim didn’t have a phone in his possession and, feeling threatened, he handed over a quantity of notes. The offender grabbed the cash and ran back down the alleyway towards Union Road during the robbery on Friday, January 11 at 11.30am.
DS Julie Cross, from Accrington CID, said: “Fortunately, the victim was not hurt but we believe the offender was carrying some form of weapon, possibly a knife.”
The offender is described as black, aged 16-19, 5ft 9in, skinny with a gaunt face.
He was wearing a black hat and black clothing.
