TWO women have been glassed in the face during a night out in Blackburn.

The friends, both aged 25, were injured after being attacked in the Last Orders Pub in Darwen Street.

Detectives investigating the attack said the pair were separately smashed in the face with a glass during a dispute with two other women.

All four women were said to have been brawling and pulling at each others’ hair following a disagreement over a man, police said.

A crowd of drinkers gathered around the fight to watch the incident unfold.

Both victims, who live in Blackburn, were left with relatively minor cuts to their faces.

DS Kathyrn Cussans, of Blackburn CID, said: “Fortunately for these victims their injuries are relatively minor but this incident could have been much worse.

“Although we have made two arrests in relation to the incident we are still keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the fight. From our inquiries so far we are aware a large number of people gathered around the fight to watch.

“I urge anyone who was in the pub that night or anyone with any information at all to come forward and contact police.”

Two 24-year-old women, also from Blackburn, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray following the incident on Friday night.

They have since been released on police bail until February 13, pending further investigations.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
