A CLITHEROE primary school is outstanding – and that’s official!

Pendle Primary School, in Princess Avenue, has received top marks from education watchdog Ofsted following its recent inspection.

An inspector said the school inspired its pupils to thrive in all aspects of their academic and personal development.

A report said: “Achievement in English and mathematics is much higher than average, although writing is not yet as strong as reading. Teaching is outstanding. Teachers and teaching assistants work extremely well together to ensure lessons are exceptionally well planned to meet the needs of all.

“The pace at which pupils learn is usually rapid and very good use is made of measuring pupils’ progress.”
