THE education department at Blackburn Cathedral has been awarded the prestigious Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, just 12 months after it was created.
Awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, the quality badge is a national scheme that combines learning and safety.
It is designed to make it easier for schools to identify providers of quality educational visits.
The Rev Canon Dr Ian Stockton said: “Now there is recognition not only that Blackburn Cathedral is a significant resource for learning, but also that if offers a high quality and safe learning experience for visiting schools.”
Joanna Booth, education officer at Blackburn Cathedral, said: “We think it’s incredibly important to hold the learning outside the classroom quality badge.
“The quality badge is a great asset for teachers, giving them peace of mind that we’re in-line with the curriculum and are meeting all necessary standards.”
