Police search for missing man in Ribchester

First published in News

A HIGH profile police search was scrambled last night in the Ribble Valley to find a 72-year-old man missing from home.

The man from Preston was deemed ‘high risk’ and dozens of officers with help from the police helicopter and underwater search teams searched the village of Ribchester and the River Ribble throughout the night from 10pm.

However, the search was unsuccessful.

A resident who witnessed the search said: “Police search, cars lights and a searching helicopter scoured the village and even the river itself.

“The noise was deafening.”
