Burnley ASBO youth who terrorised residents is spared jail

Lancashire Telegraph: Wayne Lord Wayne Lord

A TEENAGER who terrorised a Burnley estate has been spared jail after being caught with a baseball bat hurling racist abuse.

Wayne Lord, then 18, was given a two-year anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) in August 2011 after making people’s lives a misery on the Kibble Bank estate. But he was hauled before Burnley magistrates after brandishing a baseball bat and making racist threats to people in Sedburgh Street on August 22.

Lord, who lives in Sedburgh Street, admitted possession of an offensive weapon, making racially-aggravated threats and breaching his ASBO.

He was given a 33-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, by the court, along with 12-months probation supervision and 150 hours community service. Lord is still barred from an area bordered by Marsden Road, Hillingdon Road North and Underley Street, from the original ASBO. And he is banned from associating with friends Cory White and Jonathan Royal, as well as not ising threatening behaviour anywhere in the borough.
