RESIDENTS of a Nelson care home will be going back to the 1950s tomorrow.
Nelson Manor Care Home, in Barkerhouse Road, is treating residents and their relatives to a Christmas party with a difference, as the food, decorations and musical entertainment will take guests back to the 50s.
The highlight of the event will be big band sounds and Christmas songs from Preston-based songstress Sara Creeney.
Manager Joanne Shapcott is thrilled that Sara will be adding even more sparkle to the Christmas celebrations at Nelson Manor.
She said: “We’ve got a varied and busy programme of activities planned and we’ve just taken delivery of new, bespoke designed Christmas decorations.
“This is going to be an amazing time at Nelson Manor, with residents of all abilities kept busy and happy. For many, nostalgia is not just for fun, it is also good therapy.”
