MORE than 50 children are now being actively considered for adoption through Blackburn with Darwen council.
A report to the borough’s executive board said this was a “significant increase” on last year.
It said next year the borough’s children’s services department planned to build on this rise with a campaign to recruit new adopters from between 12 and 15 a year to between 20 and 23 annually.
