REVELLERS are being warned to drink safely in the run up to the festive period.
Police have issued the warning as they prepare to launch a crackdown on alcohol related violent crime and sexual offences.
Highly visible patrols, test purchase operations and licencing visits will be carried out across town centres in East Lancashire.
Ch Insp Sheena Tattum said: “We often see an increase in levels of crime and disorder in the run up to Christmas, particularly where alcohol is involved.
“I urge people to seriously consider how much they are drinking and its impact.”
