Robert Tyson McGregor, of the Isaac Centre, Harrogate Crescent, Burnley, is charged with 10 counts of making an indecent photo of a child and two counts of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between February 2010 and July 2011 in Bacup.
Contained within the 10 charges of possessing indecent images of children, there are allegations that McGregor had nine images at level five, 58 at level four, 26 at level three, 18 at level two and 221 at level one.
Level five is classified as the most extreme under current legislation.
