PUPILS at a Rawtenstall school kicked off a lesson in style with a masterclass from a Football League coach.
Simon Cooper, head of youth recruitment at Accrington Stanley FC, treated two groups of children from years 7 to 11 at Alder Grange Community and Technology School to a professional coaching session on the school’s 3G pitch.
The visit was part of the club’s community campaign to encourage young people from all over East Lancashire to get behind the the team and increase attendances.
UEFA-qualified coach Simon delivered a talk to pupils in the sports hall and offered tips on how to improve techniques and ability.
Head of PE Vanessa Holland said: “This was a great experience for our pupils.
“Simon led a really informative and fun session and we hope it's inspired some of them to get down to Stanley to support a local club.”
