BOSSES at the football business college established at Turf Moor last year are confident of moving into the Olympic Stadium with West Ham.

The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) revealed that Premier League club West Ham was their preferred choice to move into the stadium, which was the focal point of the summer’s London Olympics.

The UCFB College of Football Business had also submitted a bid to move into the stadium, but they want to share it with the anchor tenant.

Paul Fletcher, former Burnley Football Club chief executive, who now sits on the UCFB advisory board, said: “We are delighted with today’s news but there is a still a long way to go to understand how things will work and what time frame we will be looking at.

“We will be talking to West Ham to discuss the size and shape of anything we can offer and how things such as corporate rooms and the lease will be working.

“Ideally we wanted to have a base in London by 2014, but it is possible that because of the work that needs doing it may be 2015 or 2016 by the time it is ready.

“Obviously West Ham will be the key tenant but we will be able to use the facilities on non-matchdays.”

The UCFB opened in September 2011 and offers a variety of courses related to football business.
