A PADIHAM pub plagued by alcohol-fuelled crime has been ordered to employ door staff or face closure.
The New Black Bull in Mill Street has had the conditions of its licence changed after an application by police fed up with anti-social behaviour on the premises.
A fight between four men at the pub on September 23 left one with life-threatening injuries to his head, neck and face.
It must now have door staff on duty from 8pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday.
Michelle Dixon, licensing sergeant for Lancashire Police said she acted after several meetings with the landlord had proved unsuccessful in solving the problem.
She said: “Alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour is a significant problem for local communities and we are determined to do everything in our power to address it.
“We received an increase in reports of crime at the pub and were left with no options but to take action.
“We will continue to work with the licensee to ensure that customers and other people in the area remain safe.”
