The chairman of Lancashire County Council hosted a special reception for the county’s ex-servicemen and women.

The event, held recently at County Hall, saw ex-service personnel of all ages, and from all over the county, meet the chairman and the armed forces and veterans' champion.

Also present were representatives from armed forces organisations across Lancashire who support serving and former personnel.

Armed forces champions from district councils also attended the event.

County Councillor Mike France, champion for armed forces and veterans, said: "It's been a privilege to work with the many organisations that support veterans across the county.

"I am committed to working to remove the disadvantages that some ex-service men and women face."
