A PARTYGOER has been taken to hospital after being slashed above the eye with a knife.
The man had been at a party in Dryden Grove, Great Harwood, when the early morning incident took place.
Police attended the scene after receiving reports a man had been stabbed shortly before 2am yesterday.
When officers arrived both the victim and his attacker had left the property initially causing concern over a possible kidnap.
The victim was found four hours later, during as police search of Alan Ramsbottom Way.
He had not been kidnapped. It is thought that he had not returned to the house because he was too scared. Detectives said the victim has a serious slash wound above his right eye.
DI Jill Johnston said: “We are investigating an incident at a party in Great Harwood where the victim sustained a nasty injury above his right eye.
“He is currently in the Royal Blackburn Hospital undergoing treatment.”
Police are currently carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the Great Harwood area.
They said they were searching for a man who they wanted to question in connection with the incident.
