STUDENTS are being encouraged to take part in a secondary schools’ video competition on the theme ‘When Law and Hate Collide’.
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has launched the EU funded international project focusing on hate crime and is pupils to get involved.
Hate crime is any crime where the victim’s disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation and transgender identity is based on hostility or prejudice.
Each year thousands of hate crimes involve someone being injured. A large portion of these crimes are committed by adolescents and this project aims to raise awareness of the issue.
