Stacksteads shop staff scare off till raider

A MAN fled empty-handed after attempting to steal money from a Stacksteads shop.
He entered the Quick Save Plus store, in Newchurch Road, at around 6.30pm on Sunday.
Staff were stacking shelves at the back of the building when they spotted the man trying to dislodge the till from its drawer.
They scared him off before he could take anything, and reported the incident to police.
Nobody was harmed during the incident.
