DAMAGE The Renault Scenic is reovered from the scene of the collision and, right, the demolished wall
A MAN has been charged with drink-driving after a crash outside a school in Haslingden.
Two cars collided at around 7.40pm on Wednesday, in a 20mph zone, opposite Broadway Primary School, in Broadway.
Nobody was injured in the collision, but a garden wall collapsed after being struck by one of the cars.
Police said the crash was a side-on collision between a silver Mercedes SLK, and a grey Renault Scenic.
Highways officers visited the scene to clear bricks and debris from the road, and to direct traffic around the accident.
Residents at the scene described hearing ‘a loud bang’ as a car mounted the pavement and shattered the wall.
A 40-year-old man from Helmshore, who was driving the Mercedes, failed a breathalyser test at the scene and will appear before Burnley Magistrates’ Court on November 23.
