THIS is your chance to win a party by choosing a name for the sensational springy snowman coming to Blackburn town centre this Christmas.

Blackburn with Darwen Council, in partnership with the Lancashire Telegraph, is launching a competition for groups who must be aged two to 12-years-old to pick the best name for the 49 ft bouncy castle.

The jolly giant, who will live on the town hall square, is the UK’s biggest bouncy castle.

But he needs school groups, organisations and friends to enter the competition and find him a name.

The winning entrant will be given the chance to hold a snowman party for up to 25 people on December 14, a day before he officially opens to everybody else.

The group will also meet Santa, receive a Christmas stocking goody bag and get a keepsake group photograph.

The snowman will then open to the public on December 15 and stay in Blackburn until January 4, with bouncers being charged £1 a go.

Coun Dave Harling, executive member for regeneration, said: “It is going to be so much fun. There has never been a bouncy castle like this in the area and you have got the chance to name him.

“It is a big attraction to support local businesses by trying to get as many people as possible to come into town and do their shopping.”
