Pendle cash invite to improve area
8:00pm Friday 26th October 2012 in News
PENDLE residents with an idea to improve their local environment can apply for funding to help.
The Green Partnership Awards are a community partnership between Pendle Council, Lancashire County Council, United Utilities and the Environment Agency.
Grants are available to voluntary and community groups in Pendle and local schools.
Coun Tony Beckett said: “Green Partnership Awards support projects that aim to promote practical environmental improvements, while developing awareness and educating on environmental issues.
“They are also keen on projects that promote the creative use of art in the environment to make real improvements.
“To be eligible for a grant, a project should aim to make a lasting contribution to improving its local neighbourhood, and not be just a quick fix.”
For further information about Green Partnership Awards funding in Pendle, contact Audrey Drinkwater, of Pendle Council’s localities and communities team, on 01282 661339.
