A ‘SECRET mission’ involving a ‘naughty bus’ gave schoolchildren a treat.

Teacher Jeannette Brown, inspired by a book called ‘The Naughty Bus’, arranged for a vintage double-decker bus to visit Lower Darwen Primary School for her Year One class.

The five and six-year-olds thought they were going outside to do data handling on the number of cars that drove past. Little did they know the ‘naughty bus’ was parked around the corner waiting to surprise them.

The class had their photos taken on the bus, with the children pretending to be conductors and drivers.

Mrs Brown said: “They were so excited and happy. It gave them a reason, and incentive, to write, to explain to the ,naughty bus’ how to be a good bus. They haven’t stopped writing since.”

The Naughty Bus is a book aimed at young children about a misbehaving red bus.
