BURNLEY Football Club have had a nine per cent surge on overall season ticket sales compared to this time last year.
So far, around 6,420 supporters have taken advantage of the "Early Bird" reductions to secure their seats at Turf Moor for the 2008/09 campaign - 578 more than 12 months ago, It is at the younger end of the market that the most dramatic rise has been witnessed, with 12 per cent more under 16s and 27 per cent more from the 16-18 age group buying season tickets, following initiatives targeting that audience, including the introduction of a £75 season ticket for 16-18 year-olds, and a free season ticket for the second child in the same family, although restrictions apply in this instance.
Seven per cent more adults have signed up for next season also.
But development director Paul Fletcher is hoping that the current trend doesn't stop there.
"Clearly the Clarets fans can see that in new manager Owen Coyle and new director Brendan Flood there are some real positives to look forward to," he said.
"If you are a Clarets fan reading this and haven't got your season ticket yet, come down to the club and buy one tomorrow; it's the lifeblood of your club".
Supporters are reminded that the Early Bird' option is now closed to adults.
However, the reduced prices for all categories of under 18 season tickets will be extended until the end of July.
