    Two injured in 'stab attack'

    TWO men were taken to hospital following an alleged late night double stabbing in Great Harwood.

    Police said that the men were injured after a fight broke out between two groups of males in Blackburn Road at around 11.45pm last night.

    Both were taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.

    One was suffering from stab wounds to his arm; the other required surgery after being stabbed in his elbow and back.

    Police said their injuries were serious but not life threatening.

    A section of Blackburn Road was cordoned off while officers carried out their investigations.

    Officers are asking anyone wiho may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 01254 51212.

    * Four men aged 18 and 19, from Accrington, and two 19-year-old men, from Blackburn, were arrested last night on suspicion of wounding with intent.

    A 19-year-old man from Great Harwood was arrested this morning and a 25-year-old man from Great Harwood handed himself in to police.
