Wallace Hartley relative looks forward to tribute

ONE of Wallace Hartley’s relatives is looking forward to seeing musicians pay tribute to his illustrious descendant.

Fifty-four year-old Kevin Nancarrow, thought to be a second or third cousin of Hartley, will be attending the Titanic Centenary Commemoration Concert, at Colne Muni.

Kevin, who has cerebral palsy and lives at Roughlee Hall in Accrington, will watch as Jonathan Evans Jones joins Colne Orchestral Society for a musical tribute to Hartley.

Lisa McNally, deputy manager at the home, which caters for people with physical disabilities, said: “Kevin has been looking forward to the concert for some time and is very excited to be going.”

My daughter wrote a song about Wallace Hartley about 4 or 5 years ago when she was in high school. She was touched by his story. Please let us know if you like it. Thank you for sharing so much about him. http://www.youtube.c
