Memories of Pierrots

OUR photograph last week of Langho Colony's Pierrot troupe brought back many memories for 91-year-old Harold Eastwood, of Mellor.

For he nursed at the hospital for epileptics for 44 years - from 1934 until 1978.

He worked under three different medical officers, but he remembers the officer in our 1925 picture of the 'Blackwites' troupe as James Shearer.

The matron of the time, he recalls, was a Miss Green.

Others in the photo were a mix of nursing staff and patients.
