A LITTLE-seen 1960 film starring Norman Wisdom had people packing into Darwen Library Theatre this week.
There was a Crooked Man' was shot on location in the town and caused a frenzy of excitement, as film stars and camera crew strolled the streets.
Around 250 local folk were chosen as extras and the terrace home of the Mason family, in Belgrave Road, was used for one of the scenes.
After a long search, a copy of the film was located and shown this week. And the event prompted Patricia Brown, who still lives in Darwen, to show us a shot from her photgraph album.
Aged just 17 in 1960, she recalls taking her camera to watch the film being shot.
"I met Norman and Alfred Marks, who was also in the film, and they were both very friendly whilst signing autographs.
"I remember Mr Marks being both charming and funny as he posed with me for a picture."
