AN author, writing about her childhood in Blackburn, is seeking photographs from the 1940s and 50s.

Joan Potter, nee Ryan, has asked readers if they have any pictures of Billinge, St Silas Church and School, the Girls’ High school, the 1952 centenary events, the ballet club or the rambling club.

She also wants to contact a relative of Mr Bain who ran a children’s art class at the technical college in 1952, as he did a drawing for her.

Joan’s book is to be called Two and Two Halves and a Dog.
